BISA MOBILE HEALTH APP
Bisa means “ask” in the Ghanaian Twi language. It is a mobile application that allows users with an Android ,iphone or Windows phone to directly interact with medical practitioners without being physically present at the hospital. This is an advantage to people who need medical care and advice but are not able to visit the hospital for various reasons like poverty , long queues at the hospital , the fear of stigmatization, especially for people who have symptoms of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) makes them embarrassed to seek the needed treatment. As a result of these reasons and others, there is a gap in the healthcare system where some people are not able to easily seek medical help when needed.
Our approach to accessible healthcare
This app does not only address the problems of getting medical attention from qualified doctors but it also helps in the prevention and spread of disease by providing up-to-date information on the epidemiology and pathogenesis of common diseases and how to control spread of diseases during outbreaks.
WALA BLOOD DONATION PROJECT
Wala means Life in the Ghanaian GA language. Wala is a mobile application that allows the National Blood Service, Ghana to educate the general public on the importance of voluntary unpaid blood donation and help demystify the myths surrounding it.
The App also serves as a platform to send notifications to potential blood donors on the importance of giving blood voluntarily and its benefits, and reminders to existing blood donors to continue giving blood regularly.
Wala was founded by BISA, a mobile health technology company in partnership with the National Blood Service Ghana.
Blood donors who use the application receive daily health tips to improve their lifestyles and blood services updates on issues surrounding giving blood to save lives. They have answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) about blood donation and information on locations/times of upcoming and on-going blood donation events through the application.
